Joshua Alexander is an associate professor at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. At the University of Wisconsin- Madison, he received a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Audiology (psychoacoustics) and researched speech perception as a post-doctoral scientist. He also completed clinical and post-doctoral fellowships at Boys Town National Research Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. His research interests focus on auditory processes contributing to speech perception deficits in hearing-impaired listeners and on signal processing to overcome them. Dr. Alexander is an internationally recognized expert on frequency-lowering amplification, having a patent, five review articles, and almost two dozen invited presentations on the topic.
