Dr. Kathy Dowd, AuD is an international advocate for the awareness hearing loss and risk of falls related to chronic and infectious diseases, ototoxic medications, and the consequences of hearing loss on patient care. Her work with the Centers for Disease Control, American Diabetes Association, diabetes educators and other medical professions has produced guidelines for the need for audiology management of hearing and balance in patient care. Dr. Dowd’s background over the past 41 years includes educational audiology in school systems and state agencies, as well private practice, ENT offices and skilled nursing facilities.
