Dr Monita Chatterjee was born and raised in Kolkata, India. She holds an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata and a PhD degree in Neuroscience from the Institute for Sensory Research, Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY. She received post-doctoral training at House Ear Institute in Los Angeles, CA. She is presently the Director of the Auditory Prostheses & Perception Lab at Boys Town National Research Hospital, Omaha, NE. Her research focuses on basic mechanisms underlying auditory and speech perception by listeners with cochlear implants.
