Danielle DiFabio is an audiologist with a strong commitment to evidence-based, patient-centred hearing healthcare and advancing the profession of audiology. Danielle recently graduated Western University from the combined MCISc/ PhD program in Audiology. She has been actively involved with the Canadian Academy of Audiology (CAA) since early in her career, including as a student member and recipient of a CAA student award in Halifax in 2019.
Danielle currently works as an audiologist at the Ron Joyce Children’s Health Centre providing care to patients across the lifespan and is a researcher in the Connected Hearing Healthcare lab at Western University. Her research focuses on family-centred virtual care, particularly the Caregiver Participation for Virtual Care Framework and the co-creation of implementation strategies for virtual care delivery, developed as part of her dissertation. Her passion is to enhance care access and collaboration for families in hearing healthcare.
Danielle’s professional experience extends beyond clinical practice to research, education, mentorship, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Her ongoing involvement in research reflects her interest in connecting clinical practice with evidence and continuing to contribute to the broader audiology community. Danielle is particularly passionate about professional leadership, collaboration, education, and increasing awareness of the important role audiologists play in hearing healthcare.
