Rebecca Malcolmson is a Pediatric Audiologist with over 15 years of experience in public healthcare and/or non-profit settings. She graduated from University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Linguistics in 2004 and Western University with a Master of Science in Communication Disorders in 2008 where she completed her thesis on sound localization abilities while listening to personal audio devices. Prior to becoming an Audiologist, she was engaged in research on language variation and change with the Sociolinguistics Laboratory in Ottawa where she collaborated on several publications and international presentations. She was a Cochlear Implant Audiologist for the first decade of her career in both Manitoba, at the Central Speech and Hearing Clinic, and in Ontario, at Sick Kids Hospital, where she also began her training with the Ontario Infant Hearing Program. Rebecca is currently the Clinical Practice Leader and an Audiologist at ErinoakKids Centre for Treatment and Development, which is the lead agency for the largest regional Infant Hearing Program in the province, where she continues to find joy in supporting children as they listen, learn, and grow.
