Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) beneficiaries

This message is to confirm that all Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) beneficiaries are
eligible for IFHP coverage from the date that the certificate of eligibility is issued by an
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) or Canada Border Services Agency
(CBSA) officer. However, please be advised that it takes two (2) business days from the
day that the certificate is issued for the eligibility information to be reflected in the Medavie
Blue Cross system. Beneficiaries are still eligible during this two (2) business day period.
