Pamela Souza is an audiologist, researcher, and teacher at Northwestern University. She studies speech recognition, hearing aids, and effects of aging, and has published widely on those topics. A recurring theme in her work is understanding individual auditory and cognitive abilities in order to customize hearing treatment. Her clinical interests include hearing aids, severe loss, assistive technology, and patient education. Her work is motivated by experiences with hearing loss and dementia within her own family.
