The University of Montreal’s speech-language pathology and audiology clinic was established in 2009. In 2015, a first version of the protocol was created to offer services to patients suffering from tinnitus and/or sound tolerance problems in the Montreal area and even outside the metropolitan area. This protocol is based on evidence and various North American and European protocols and guidelines for the treatment of patients with tinnitus and sound tolerance problems. The most recent version of this protocol (2025) has similarities with the Tinnitus Stepped-Care model of Dr. James A. Henry, Ph.D. (1).
The main purpose of this conference will be to explain the different stages of the tinnitus protocol at the University of Montreal’s audiology clinic, from referral to the clinic to follow up of rehabilitation intervention results.
