MA-5: Managing Misophonia in Adults

Speaker

Misophonia is a disorder of decreased tolerance to specific sounds or their associated stimuli. As an audiologist, you will meet many patients with misophonia. Currently there are no validated treatment strategies for misophonia. However, we can use audiological strategies such as sound therapy and environmental modifications. In addition, audiologists can employ transdisciplinary strategies from occupational therapy and psychology, effective problem solving, and coping strategies to help our patients.
