Plenary: Hearing Care Interventions for Adults: Reflecting on Resources for Audiologists

Speakers

Acquired hearing loss affects many adults in North America, impacting their communication access in social, work and home environments. Unfortunately, research suggests that up to 40% of adults fitted with hearing aids fail to use them or are wearing them inconsistently. This panel presentation will discuss current interventions available to clinical audiologists to support their adult patients and how them be applied to achieve optimal outcomes.

Learning outcomes:

  • Participants will be able to describe interventions for adults with hearing loss.
  • Participants will be able to describe the concept of shared decision-making.
  • Participants will be able to list outcome questionnaires for adults with hearing loss.
